Pacha manga chammandi is a traditional dish of Kerala which goes well with rice porridge.
Manga chammandi and rice with roasted pappad is a very good combo and healthy too.
Preparation time: 10 minutes.
1/2 to 3/4 cup raw mango pieces (depending on the sourness adjust the quantity of mangoes)
1/2 cup grated coconut
4 to 5 red chillies
1 tbsp chopped carrots
1 stem curry leaves
Salt to taste
Peel raw mango. Cut the mango into pieces.
In a mixer jar coarsely grind 1/2 a cup coconut and red chillies. Make sure you grind the mixture once so that it does not become into a smooth paste.
When the mixture is crushed coarsely add the mango pieces. Grind the mango pieces and coconut together, again make sure the mixture is not smooth in texture.
Do not add water to the mixture.
At this stage, add salt, carrots and curry leaves and grind the mixture again.
Once everything is ground empty it into a bowl.
